Serious students who are eager to take their training to the next level and
are ready for the commitment of competitive dance or tumble team may be
invited to join Hunter’s Competitive Dance Company (HCDC).
HCDC members are expected to demonstrate a strong work ethic, a
positive attitude, and the maturity required to handle the intensity of
competitive training. Students must be respectful, adaptable, and able to
work well with others, while also keeping up with fast-paced, challenging
choreography. Consistent class attendance and proper dancewear are
essential.
Team members will compete against some of the top dancers and tumblers
in the state and beyond, so a great attitude is just as important as talent. All
dancers and tumblers must be willing to put the commitment to HCDC
above any other extracurricular activities, school sports, etc. when it comes
to choreography classes, rehearsals, performances, and competitions!
For current HCDC dancers, mock auditions are held in mid-May to
determine team placement and levels. Tumble team invitations are sent out
in the spring. New dance team members will receive an email invitation to
participate in summer classes, which serve as an audition process. Final
team selections are made prior to the August HCDC Choreography Camps.
